Internship Opportunities:
Here at MdVLA there are two types of internships, Legal and Marketing/Non-Profit Administration.
Legal Internship:
During a legal internship at MdVLA you will assist with the intake of artists as they enter our pro bono attorney referral process. You will participate in the planning and facilitation of our bi-weekly Art Law Clinic, where artists can receive 30 minute free legal consultations with attorneys. There will also be legal research assignments that span different areas of Art Law as well as the opportunity to produce lectures and seminars on various legal topics.
These internships are offered each semester, both Fall and Spring, as well as during the Summer. You must currently attend an accredited law school in order to apply. Also, you must be able to receive school credit if you wish to intern in the Fall or Spring. For Summer internships, you must be able to obtain a public interest fellowship to fund your work. It is possible to obtain this type of public interest fellowship for summer work from both the University of Maryland School of Law and the University of Baltimore School of Law. If you are interested in a Summer internship, please submit your application well in advance of the public interest fellowship deadline. We will need time to process your application before we determine whether we are able to sponsor you for a grant. For all internships, you must be able to work from our Baltimore office.

You will help find ways to ensure, and track, that as many artists as possible have access to legal assistance. Further, you will learn the logistics that underpin what it takes to run a successful non-profit organization.
